Genealogical Resources in NY

Guzik Book CoverRevised and Edited by Estelle M. Guzik; published by the New York Genealogical Society, Inc. (2003). This awarding winning reference work is a comprehensive guide to genealogical and biographical resources in New York City and Albany, an updated 1989 reference work, cited by the New York Public Library as one of the outstanding reference works in that year.

For each of 82 libraries, archives and record repositories in the five boroughs of New York City, as well as a number of state agencies in Albany, Genealogical Resources provides a description of its holdings, the geographic scope of collections, the years covered, and finding aids. Approximately one quarter of the repositories are specifically Jewish; the majority hold records for all groups. Name, place, and subject indices are included.
